Pelican View Aviation is a small owner-operated flight training service in Southern California. Based out of Carlsbad, CA, Pelican View Aviation offers airplane introduction flights and flexible flight training in the San Diego area. As an independent service, we are here for you and can provide personalized services to meet your aviation goals.
Discovery Flight
Experience flying an airplane!
A discovery flight is a 1 hour experience designed to give you the unforgettable experience of flight in a small airplane and provide an opportunity to ask questions about becoming a licensed pilot.

Private Pilot Flight Training
Personalized training to accomplish the dream of becoming a license pilot. We will work at your own pace to ensure that you become a safe and competent pilot.
Steps
You must be able to read, write, and speak English.
At least 17 years old.
Pass an aviation medical exam.
Learn to safely fly and complete solo flights.
Pass a written test.
Complete the minimum flight experience and training
Pass a practical test.
Customized Training
Flight training will be conducted according to 14 CFR part 61 which allows for flexibility and customization to your needs. Our flight instructors will work with you and your schedule to complete the training which will include a mix of flight and ground training to ensure that you both know all the required information and have the skills to be a pilot! It is recommended to allow for at least 2-3 lessons per week to maintain currency and optimize your learning experience.
